It was at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where her father finally retired, that Wendy found a place to call home for the next four decades. In 1974, Wendy began a career with the US Postal Service, dedicating thirty-three years of her life to that organization before retiring in 2007. At local Monmouth University, Wendy was able to merge her many art elective courses with a business administration degree program, and in 2004 she earned a bachelor's degree. Since her move to Delaware in July 2013, Wendy has discovered a vibrant and nurturing arts community that has breathed new life into her creative endeavors. Eager to refine her skills, she enrolled in workshops at local venues such as Gallery One in Ocean View and the Rehoboth Art League. Additionally, she sought the guidance and mentorship of talented local and regional artists, continually honing her artistic prowess in constant pursuit of improvement.

Wendy's artistic achievements speak directly to her dedication and talent. She is a proud member of the Rehoboth Art League, the Delaware Watercolor Society (DWS), and the American Watercolor Society. Since 2019, she has exhibited her work in numerous DWS juried fine art exhibitions, earning widespread recognition for her talent. Her skills were duly acknowledged with three first-place awards as well as a third-place award. In addition, some of her works have been sold to private collections.

In April of 2021, Wendy's contributions to the watercolor community were further honored as she was awarded Signature Membership in the Delaware Watercolor Society. Currently, she serves as a board member in the position of Workshop Director, helping to encourage and guide fellow artists on their creative journeys.

Inspired by the diverse wonders of the world, Wendy draws from her experiences, having lived and traveled extensively. She firmly believes that watercolors are a versatile medium, capable of manifesting limitless expressions and individual styles. Her personal approach to watercolor shows a uniqueness that sets her apart. Her deep passion for photography provides her with a wellspring of cherished memories, forming the foundation from which she brings her paintings to life.

Wendy Leddy finds solace and joy in capturing nature's majesty...be it the celestial hues of sunrises and sunsets, the grace of birds in flight, or the endless wonder of landscape vistas. It is the art scene in Delaware, with its vibrant spirit and welcoming embrace, that fuels her tireless pursuit of watercolor mastery.
About Wendy...

In 1964, while living in Chesapeake, Virginia, Wendy Leddy had the privilege of studying with well-known Dutch artist, Fini Beunis. It was during this transformative period that she was first introduced to the world of watercolors, often embellished with the delicate strokes of pen and ink. Since then, watercolor has remained Wendy's medium of choice, encapsulating her artistic vision with grace and beauty. Always seeking inspiration, she seized every opportunity to learn from local artists no matter where she was.
